HOUR EIGHTEEN OF THE FAST
18:56:07
The day you want is yours to keep.
You already know what a good day looks like: the fast finished, the water drunk, the miles in. Ahonui walks it with you, and keeps the distractions you chose blocked until the day's work is done. Not a minute longer.
FAST PAST ITS GOAL · WATER NEARLY THERE · THE MILES STILL WAITING
The record
One Saturday in Ahonui.
A Saturday as it actually went. The fast ran past its goal on the Lock Screen. The water added up glass by glass. The workout is still waiting, and Instagram is waiting with it: not locked away, simply after. When the miles are in, the block is gone.
Nothing here is a streak, and nothing is a score. It is one day, designed by you and written down as it happened.
The quiet
Quiet, until the work is done.
Choose the distractions that can wait. While a protocol is still ahead of you, Ahonui keeps them blocked; the moment the thing is done, the block is gone and the next tap goes straight in. A blocker on a timer does not know the fast ended or the miles are in. Ahonui does, because it is also the tracker, so the shield lifts the moment the fact lands.
Only the apps you chose ever wait: calls, messages, maps and everything you left alone stay open. And the shields are Apple's own, the same ones Screen Time uses, held by iOS itself rather than drawn over the top. Strict mode is the default: a shield offers no way through until the work is done. Turn it off and you can walk past a shield at no cost; the walk-past is written down, and that is all.
Open a shielded app and the screen tells you where you stand: which protocol is holding it, how far along you are, and what is still owed after that. Never a bare wall, and never a lie about the way through.

While the fast holds
Scrolling and snacking are the same itch. While the fast holds, your feeds rest with it, and they wake the moment you break.
-
Skip it, and they wait
Dodge the weigh-in and nothing scolds you: no badge, no broken streak. The apps you chose just close, until the scale gets its ten seconds.
-
Earn your apps
Finish the miles and the block on Instagram is gone by the walk home. A feed you earned reads better than one you fell into.
Your day, your design
Made of the protocols you choose.
Just the fast. The fast and the water. The whole kit. Each protocol you turn on names its goal, where its numbers come from, and the apps that wait for it. Workouts come from Apple Health; fasting and water are tracked in the app. Nothing is guessed, so a shield never stands on a number you doubt. And nothing is required.
What it tracks

Connected tools
Tell Claude. It's logged.
Connect an assistant you already talk to, and it can read and write your day. Ask how the day is going and it reads the same day you see. Describe lunch in a sentence and the meal is logged, macros and all. Say the fast starts now, and the timer is running before you reach for your phone.
You approve each tool once, and one button in Settings ends it: access you grant is access you can take back, whole. Whatever a tool logs is marked as its work, so the record always says what came from where, and your meal photos are never shared with any connected tool. The shields are yours alone: no assistant can lift one, and none can grant a pass.

The name
A long breath
Ahonui is Hawaiian for patience carried through perseverance. Aho is breath, nui is great: the long breath you need for anything worth keeping up. It is one of the five values of the Aloha Spirit named in Hawaiʻi state law.
Not a streak to protect, not a score to chase: a day you designed, and a long breath while you keep it.
Principles
How it behaves
It works offline.
Shields are decided on the phone, from your day and your rules. Airplane mode, a dead spot, our servers down: the deal you made still holds.
Your health data stays yours.
Apple Health is the source of truth for body facts, and Ahonui reads what you allow and nothing else. No advertising, no analytics on your health data, no tracking.
Leaving is a button.
Deleting your account removes your data, and anything Ahonui wrote into Apple Health stays under your control in Health.
