Reporting a bug? Include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you did just before it went wrong. If it involves a blocked app, say which protocol was blocking it. That is almost always enough to reproduce it.
Common questions
Can I get into a blocked app if I really need to?
Yes, and how depends on one setting. Strict mode is on by default, and while it is on a blocked app offers no way through. To change that, open Ahonui, go to Settings, then Blocked apps, and turn strict mode off. With strict mode off, every block carries an “Open anyway” button that costs nothing and takes nothing away; each pass is simply recorded, so you can see the pattern later. If you have friends in Ahonui and have turned on Show passed blocks, they see it too, which is the whole point of that switch. Either way you can withdraw Screen Time access in iOS Settings, and everything is unblocked at once.
A block is never a lock. It is friction you can see and undo, not a cage.
Ahonui cannot see my workouts, steps or sleep.
Those come from Apple Health. Open the iOS Settings app, go to Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Ahonui, and confirm the categories are on. Health permissions are granted per category, so it is common to have water on and sleep off without noticing.
Nothing is being blocked.
Screen Time has to be turned on for the iPhone itself before any app can use it. Check iOS Settings, then Screen Time. After that, confirm Ahonui still has Screen Time access in its own settings and that at least one app is selected for the protocol.
An app stayed blocked after I met the protocol.
Open Ahonui. The block settles right away. Blocks clear on the phone by themselves, but iOS decides when a closed app gets to wake up and check, so there can be a short lag until you open the app. If an app stays blocked after you open Ahonui, that is a bug worth an email.
Does any of this work without a connection?
Blocking, yes. It is decided on the device from your day's facts and your rules, with no network and no sign-in required, so enforcement never stops working when the signal does.
Logging is not offline yet. A meal or a fast logged with no connection will tell you it failed rather than saving quietly and catching up later. Water is the exception, because it is written to Apple Health first and picked up from there.
I cannot find a food, or the numbers look wrong.
Tap the meal and edit it. You can search again, change the serving size, or enter a food by hand with your own numbers. Whatever you save is what counts toward the day.
How do I connect an AI assistant?
Point it at https://webhook.ahonui.app/mcp. In Claude
Code that is one command:
claude mcp add --transport http ahonui https://webhook.ahonui.app/mcp.
In Codex it is
codex mcp add ahonui --url https://webhook.ahonui.app/mcp
followed by codex mcp login ahonui. In Claude, ChatGPT
or Cursor, add a custom connector or an HTTP MCP server and paste
the same address. Anything that speaks MCP over HTTP will work.
You will be asked to sign in and approve that one tool. It is included in your subscription: there is nothing extra to buy and no credits to run out of, and we are not going to sell you an assistant of our own.
A connected assistant can read your health data and log meals, water and fasts, and if you ask it to, pause a protocol. It cannot choose which apps are blocked: those selections never leave your iPhone. Every pause is in your event history, and you can end one in the app. To disconnect a tool, open Settings, then Connected tools; it takes effect on that tool's next request.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings, then Delete account. It removes your meals and photos, fasts, water, weigh-ins, workouts, sleep, override history, goals and sign-in. It cannot be undone. Entries written into Apple Health stay in Health, where you can remove them yourself.
I got a new phone. Is my data there?
Sign in with the same account and your history and goals come back. Your blocked-app selections do not travel between devices, because iOS keeps app selections local to the device by design, so pick them again on the new phone.
Which iPhones does it run on?
iPhone running iOS 26.5 or later. Screen Time must be enabled on the device for blocking to work.
