Terms of Service
Last updated 7 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Bijou Labs LLC, the Delaware limited liability company that operates Ahonui, for use of the Ahonui app. Using the app means you accept them.
Ahonui is not medical advice. It is a tracking and habit tool, not a substitute for professional care. Do not use it to diagnose or treat anything, never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read in it, and talk to a qualified clinician before starting a fast, changing your diet, or beginning an exercise programme. If you may be having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
Your account
You need an account and you must be at least 13 years old. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Health disclaimer
Nutrition figures come from a third party food database and are estimates, often wrong ones. Data read from Apple Health is only as accurate as whatever wrote it. Fasting is not appropriate for everyone, including people who are pregnant, people with diabetes, and people with a history of disordered eating.
Blocked apps
Ahonui can block apps you choose until you meet the goals you set.
- A block is a prompt, not a lock, and is not designed to be inescapable. By default a blocked app shows no button to open it anyway, which is strict mode and can be turned off, and Screen Time access can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings.
- Blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls, which we do not control. We do not warrant that a block will appear, hold or lift at any particular moment.
You choose which apps to block and are responsible for that choice. Do not block anything you may need urgently, or anything where the consequences of reaching it matter.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Ahonui unlawfully, or to harm or harass anyone
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
- Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or place unreasonable load on it
- Access another person's account, or use the service to build a competing product from our data
Content
The meals, photos, notes and entries you create stay yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the app for you: to store your content, show it back to you, and send it to the providers listed in the privacy policy for the features you asked for. We do not train models on it and do not publish it.
The app, its design, and the Ahonui name and marks are ours. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with the App Store's terms.
Connected tools
You can connect third-party tools, such as AI assistants, to your account. A tool you authorize acts on your behalf: what it reads it reads for you, and what it logs counts as your entry. You are responsible for the tools you connect, their handling of your data is governed by their terms rather than ours, and we are not responsible for their conduct, availability or accuracy. Disconnect one at any time in the app, and we may refuse or disconnect one that harms the service or other users.
Price and changes
One subscription, billed monthly at $14.99 or annually at $99.99 in US dollars, with other currencies set by Apple for your region. New subscribers get seven days free.
It renews automatically, and the trial becomes a paid subscription, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancel in Settings under your name, then Subscriptions; it takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and deleting the app does not cancel it. Apple charges your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal, is the seller, and handles every payment and refund under its own terms, so we cannot issue refunds. Unused trial time is forfeited when you buy.
We may change prices, and may change, suspend or discontinue features. An increase applies only from your next renewal and only after Apple has notified you and, where required, obtained your consent; cancel before that renewal if you do not agree. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Termination
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if the law requires it. The sections on disclaimers, liability and governing law survive.
Disclaimer of warranties
Ahonui is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free, or that data will never be lost. Where a jurisdiction does not allow these exclusions, they do not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Ahonui. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, and to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ahonui after that means you accept them.
Governing law
Delaware law governs, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
